Notebooks

So, alas my bookbinding awl arrived, and I thought i’d give it a quick shot with some of the security pattern envelope paper i’ve been collecting, along with a mix of papers for the inside. Nothing super spectacular but I think they’re cute 🙂

I just cut the paper to size using the rotary cutter and ruler, which took longer than anticipated…which I think might be due to a lack of plan when I started. I was making multiple cuts per batch as they are small notebooks.. and ended up doing it a bit on the fly..there must be a quicker way of doing it, and I presume it revolves around planning it better 😀 But anyway.. Yes.
Quite like them, have a sweet bookbinding book on the way for Christmas and can’t wait to get my hands on it!

I have also made a couple of a5 notebooks using interesting papers, as they are the kind of thing I love and want to use and buy all the time. Tracing paper, graph paper, lined foolscap paper and plain papers in nice muted colours for president! I used the long armed stapler for those, however I think my staples could do with being a bit longer!

Looking forward to lashing out the gocco sometime soon and having a stack of handmade notebooks beside me ready to pimp with some yummers. Watch this space!!!
These will be available for sale in the future, think i’ll be keeping the first few batches for my own doodles 🙂 xx
