I know I have probably sent this video to a lot of you but I am going to post it here and hope someone gets to experience it that wouldn’t have found it otherwise! This video brings me unspeakable amounts of joy – it’s a guy dancing like crazy on his own not giving a shit at all what’s going on around him. You should watch to see what happens, it’s beautiful! Even when people are try taking the piss he just bounces back off them like a mirror of love or some shit. Pewpew!
A new way to say Hooray.

I am always wondering why our surroundings aren’t more interactive. This video made me smile, and is definitely something I would like to encounter in my daily life.
This is obviously a project which would cost a lot of money to implement, but I feel the message it reminds me of is that our environment is ours to use and it can be whatever we want it to be. It doesn’t have to be dull to the max! That shit’s for lamewads, yo. We need to start leaving little trails of human in our concrete jungles. Perhaps spread some love whilst doing something creative and expressive.
In ‘Inspiyear’, a project I did for college last year – I was encouraging interactivity with our environment through type… the kind of thing that can make many peoples day by doing one simple act. Hope, in my opinion, can be restored in a heartbeat.
Below is one example from the project where I was encouraging people to do an ‘Amélie” style stunt, where they would leave passport style photographs around the place to add a bit of creative fun to the day of some randomer!

Another idea I had was to tape one line lyrics to surfaces; the purpose here being that the lyrics would seem abstract to anyone who didn’t know the song – fun to those who did – and for those who don’t care about music – that they could appreciate lyrics in a poetic way and wonder why and how the hell the whole scenario happened to be. Regardless, it gets people wondering – which is never a bad thing.

Rocket, Salad. Stay tuned.

Bonjour, MakeLovelytons!
I have this burning passion (Lol) for French film. It seems to be the only genre of film that really appeals to me, and the only film that I feel I can take something valuable from to enrich my life with. I.e / not feel i’ve wasted some time or baught in to some marketing venture that is trying to rape me and has product placements all over the shop. You know. On this note, I recently re-discovered the joy of the movie ‘Paris, Je T’aime’. And yes, Paris, Je’Taime.
In brief, it is a collection of short films by a number of directors and with a range of actors all about love. Each of the short films has a great message and each delivered in the most beautiful and creative way.
This one in particular just makes my heart melt! The tiny kid, his huge bag. Perfect. I hope you enjoy and would love to hear any feedback, or recommendations for French movies.
In the beautiful words of Bob Marley, my favourite musician in the whole world …. ‘You better Lively Up Yourself, and don’t be no drag.’, Play us out Bob….play us out!

Helping Others While Helping Yourself
October 20, 2009
an article by Stephen Mills on October 15, 2009
I stumbled upon this website and couldn’t agree with Stephen’s words more – This post proper got me thinking which I think is a very good sign and I was just left with a sense of “I hope more people read that”. So, with that in mind, I have re-posted them here. Let me know what you think, eh?
There is a widespread belief which is promoted by the moralities of duty that pursing your self-interest is somehow incompatible with helping others, general benevolence, and good-will among all human beings. Many consider it morally superior to sacrifice yourself for others over helping others while helping yourself. The latter is considered selfish or an inferior way of helping.
There is an implication that pursuing your self-interest means trampling on the interests of others. That looking out for yourself means disregarding the rights and needs of others. That is a zero-sum game that is complete hogwash. I reject those beliefs and quite frankly consider them responsible for a lot of psychological harm. They belong to a less enlightened past and need to be discarded.
One of the best ways you can help others is to to not become a burden on anyone by taking care of yourself. Your health is a simple example. I place high value on keeping myself and my family from becoming a burden on the rest of the population and I consider it a virtue. Going further, I consider it a virtue to live a full, rich, meaningful, and happy life. That is what it means to be human and to do anything less is to violate your nature and I don’t see how that can be considered good.
None of that means that helping others is not a good thing or something you should strive for because it can be one of the most rewarding activities you can undertake. It can be a key factor in living a meaningful life. A wonderful synthesis of both is finding happiness by doing those things that give you pleasure and meaning while at the same time benefiting others. The benefit can be and often is direct, but it doesn’t have to be. I have purchased books that have benefited the authors financially and from which I have found profound insights. Insights that have benefited me immensely. They’ve helped me by helping themselves. My health is a thousand times better than it was a year ago. The vast majority of the information I used to make the transformation was found on the web or in books I found on the web. So thanks to the innumerable people who have contributed to the information age. Many of them have become wealthy in the process.
Research shows that happy people and people who feel good are more likely to help others. It’s not a trade-off between your own interests and the interests of others. Relationships that are mutually beneficial rather than mutually sacrificial are the ones that are likely to thrive. I don’t want to take what someone else has created. I want to benefit and have others benefit from what I create.
Everyone must pick their own path and I’m not telling you what yours might be. I am suggesting however that it is wrong to feel guilty about pursing your own self-interest. The bitter and self-important people who lay a guilt trip on you for being “selfish” for pursuing your own way aren’t helping anyone. They certainly didn’t help you.
What if everyone took care of themselves to the extent possible while acting in a generally kind and helpful way toward every ones else, including the other creatures of the earth? What if we treated ourselves and each other as individuals each with a right and a basic need to pursue our own interests without trampling on one another? What a wonderful world it might be.
This post was originally feature on here, on today’s date – 20th October 2009. This seems to be a good website – I am yet to look around it but I can see links to some very interesting topics which I am about to gander at. I get the feeling I will be posting from this site again, and thank you StumbleUpon for yet another gem.
“The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.”

Non..o…fence…ivism
October 16, 2009
Residents of Wellington City, New Zealand joined forces with the folks behind OutdoorKnit and beautified this fence on a corner in their community where development has come to somewhat of a standstill. A group gathered on a Sunday afternoon to weave colourful hearts into the spaces on the chain link fence. The effect from a distance looks as though all the hearts are simply floating in air. I love this kind of craftivism, and seeing folks of all ages participate makes it even more wonderful!
So do I original poster, so do I! Though, I would place the word ‘wonderful’ with Lovely
But I think we all know that by now. I love this idea so much and it is super relevant to the past few weeks of my life… For some trickle down MakeLovely effect I am going to enlist the help of the lovely Jen and see if she will help me do something special in college. There’s a basket ball sports area outside the front where this would be perfect
For me, it will be in memory of a certain lovely someone. I would love many people to see this to remember the importance of being creative, as well as spreading the love and improving their surroundings. If it is not allowed, or taken down – it will be a laughable o’fence (wha!) because this is harming no one and the fence is already there. Watch this space! Hopefully this will be happening on Tuesday, I might ask permission and go at it full throttle so it may actually happen later in the week than that.
Go Forth!
The original post can be found here, over on a great website called Craftzine! A link to craftzines homepage can also be found over there! *Pointing* Top right of this window if you want to check it out at a different time.
Anywho! Go forth …BakeLovely?

October 14, 2009
I was browsing Gumtree.ie just now and found this interesting post;
Hi Everyone,
I Have started a project entitled ‘1 minute picture’ where we will get as many people as we can around the world to take a picture at 3:00pm (GMT) on Saturday October 31st 2009.With nearly everyone having a camera phone/digital camera we would like to see how many images we can get to use in two different ways,
1. A collage of ‘1 minute in time’ (around the globe)
2. A video ‘1 minute in time’ (around the globe)This picture can be of anything you like (the beach, the road, the sky, a friend, a halloween costume, your cat, your sofa, etc), wherever you are between 3:00 & 3:01pm GMT (except, no copyrighted material)
We ask that images not be above 3mb & prefer jpg format, but any format will do.
All images will be considered ‘public domain’ unless stated & please leave your name and a description so you can be credited.
We look forward to seeing your ‘1 minute in time’ and hope you are looking forward to seeing what everyone else was doing in that same minute. Send your pictures to the email addresses below.

Tiny Door, Big Smiles
October 14, 2009
Anyone who talks to me regularly will be fully aware of how often I mention the website etsy.com. It is simply, well…..fabulous. They may very well also know about my love for miniature things and how scale play tickles my fancy…
Looking through the etsy website gives me a great sense of hope, as most, if not all of the stuff on it is handmade. There are literally *thousands* of sellers, and it is doing wonders to reignite arts and crafts as a viable tool for making a living. I will do a long post dedicated especially to my darling Etsy very soon; but in the mean time I just wanted to share something I found there a couple of months ago that is pure lovely, and available for sale if you are that way inclined.

Small Scale Doors placed on trees, turning them into Faerie houses <3

Wee Folk Are Homeless no more!
I think these would be great even on the skirting board in your house, what a lovely idea, and one that is sure to bring smiles.
If you want to see more of these gorgeous little doors, go forth and see lovely over on etsy. If you have some time, you should also have a look at some of the other miniatures on the website and get that brain ticking over for some unusual and creative uses or placements for them that will make people smile!
I am just after finding this page too, which I thought was…..for fear of overusing the word lovely I will say, charming! It is a small scale miniature enchanted garden, made in a regular garden planter pot! I *love* the tiny washing line with miniature clothes!!! It is like the felt version of an idea used in the Little People photography project also, shown below.

Enchanted Garden

Aww!
If you haven’t seen the Little People tiny street art project yet, you should absolutely check it out. There are a load of photos over on the blog and they are totally smile worthy. Perhaps those little dudes could even do with some houses laying about on our streets for cute factor smile making in our days? A tiny little man waiting for a bus! A tiny supermarket and tiny carpark!

Insufficient Funs
Exciting things start to happen when you mix ideas and sources…
Now Go on, outta here! You know what you’ve to do!
